Cemetery Fees & charges

City of Winnipeg Cemeteries Branch - 2022 Fees & Charges Schedule Effective April 1, 2022.

GST applicable to all fees.

PST applicable to identified products.

All fees must be paid prior to receipt of services.

Payment can be made using cash, Interac, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or bank draft. Personal cheques are only accepted if payment is received 10 business days in advance of a service or product being required.

Columbaria niches: engraving and maintenance of columbaria niches can only be ordered and completed by the Cemeteries Branch. See templates for engraving layout and designs allowed on niche doors.

Cremains interment at same time as casket burial in same location: 50% of prevailing cremains interment rate plus casket full rate.

Multiple cremains interments at same time, same location: first at the full prevailing rate, each additional cremains at 50% of full rate.

Multiple interments at same time, different locations: full prevailing charges.

Late funeral fees: (in addition to interment fees): no interments permitted after 5:00 p.m. on regular business days. Late funeral departing interment property after 3:45 pm Monday through Friday: per 1/2 hour or part thereof $190.00.

Postponement of interment fee: 20% of the interment fee is required for service postponement made same day of service. A cancellation fee is applicable where the postponement is for greater than four days.

Cancellation of interment fee: 50% of the interment fee is applied where five working days' notice of service cancellation is not provided, prior to the booked interment time.

Change of order fee: A charge of 2 times (double) the ‘Oversized Casket Fee’ or ‘Casket Vault/Liner/Wood Box Installation Fee’ or ‘Cremation Vault/Liner Installation Fee’ is applied where notification is provided after the initial order is placed.

Disinterment being interred into new City Cemetery property: 5% discount on the disinterment fee. Property must be purchased at time of disinterment.

Foundation size dependent on lot/plot size, location and ground condition. The final decision on foundation installation size is determined by the Cemeteries Administrator.

Monument must be removed by Memorial Dealer at owner's expense to facilitate work. (Prices include 20% discount off install fees).

Flat marker and separate vase installed at the same time; 20% discount applied to applicable combined marker and memorial vase installation fees.

Family estate columbaria optionsAll family estate units are located within the cremation garden flowerbeds. Inurnments are charged separately.

Option permits the purchase of a niche compartment in an estate columbaria that is nestled into the cremation gardens. The pedestal is a two niche columbaria unit with a deep peaked roof.
